How To Install Henkaku Enso - Permanent Custom Software
A few years ago when the PS Vita was released, countless open source firmwares were created and thanks to Team Molecule, the Henkaku was created enabling the PS Vita be more than what it can do, play more than what it can play.
Henkaku was a very successful custom firmware for PS Vita 3.60 but it has a flaw in which it took years to overcome and that is making it permanent.
You see, every time you install Henkaku as what's shown on the pic below, it's just a temporary firmware meaning once your Vita has been reset, you need to install Henkaku again and again.
But just a few months ago, Team Molecule, creator of Henkaku made an awesome breakthrough and Enso was born. It's an awesome app that will make your Vita on a permanent firmware and you won't need to enable Henkaku again and again every time you're gonna open it.
So let me walk you through on how to install it.
Requirements
- Computer
- USB Cable
- Wifi
- FTP Client
- PS Vita 3.60 on Henkaku. No exception. If you don't know how to install Henkaku, you can check my previous blog for detailed instructions here.
Installing Enso
- First we need to download the Enso VPK file from a trustworthy site like Github to your computer. No other files needed except for VPK.
- Open Henkaku on your Vita and connect it to a computer using the IP address and FTP client as seen on the picture.
- Transfer the VPK file to the uxo: folder on Henkaku and install it.
- Once installed, you can delete the Enso VPK file inside Henkaku and the Enso bubble will show up in the live area.
Activating Enso
Congratulations on installing Enso but we're still not done yet. Let's go ahead and activate it.
- Tap on the Enso bubble and launch it.
- Once inside Enso, there are some instructions and disclaimer on the page. I've tried this a lot of times but it never damaged my PS Vita. Just press circle to accept the terms and another menu will appear.
- Then press x to activate and the system will activate Enso then automatically reset your device. If you want to disable Enso, go back to it and instead of pressing x, press triangle and the system will reset again.
Enso is very convenient when traveling as your Vita won't require internet access to activate Henkaku custom firmware, pretty neat! To make sure Enso is activated, you can turn the vita off and on and you will see the Enso logo once it opens.
Thank you for reading my tutorial.
