1. Introducing SteemPress

WordPress has been the most popular way for bloggers. It is a free open source software that has turned into the easiest and most powerful blogging and website content management system (CMS) in the last 15 years. I am one of the early users back in 2005. I learned how to turn my blogs into a multimedia experience by incorporating awesome graphics, photographs, images, videos, podcasts.

Like me, many bloggers today struggle to earn from their blogs.

What if I tell you that you can now earn extra income with all your WordPress blogs by using a free SteemPress plugin.

2. What is SteemPress?

SteemPress is a WordPress plugin that automates your posting from any WordPress blog to the Steem Blockchain.

Everytime you post in your WordPress blog, it will automatically appear in the Steem Blockchain where you can get rewarded with STEEM tokens.

I have created many websites for my clients since 2006. They are too thrilled to hear this good news of earning an extra income by simply connecting their WordPress blogs to the Steem community.

I've been using the SteemPress plugin for half a year now.

The goal of this post is to promote and give a proper review of SteemPress.

3. SteemPress Ranking at State of the DApp

SteemPress is one of the decentralized Media DApp listed on the State of the DApps platform.

Presently, the ranking of SteemPress is at #30 on the State of the DApps.

The following graph shows the amount of activities and transactions that take place with this SteemPress app daily, weekly and monthly.

There are about 200+ daily users of this DApp with 250+ daily transactions going on.

4. How To Get Started Using SteemPress

A. Download the SteemPress plugin.

B. Add New Plugins in your WP dashboard

• Upload the entire steempress.zip file onto your dashboard!
• Do not unzip the file.

C. Activate the Plugin

Once the Wordpress plugin is uploaded, go to "Plugin" and "Activate".

D. Go To Setting

i. Key in Your Steemit username

If you do not have a steemit account, you can sign up here.

You can key in your username with @ or without @.

For example: @rosatravels or rosatravels.

ii. Key in your posting key and not your password key

iii. Set your Reward

iv. Save the Setting

E. Connect your WordPress Blog to Steemit

Go to your dashboard and write your first post.

• Go to Post
• Write your Title
• Write your Content
• Tick the Box to Publish on Steem

Tip: Many people forget to tick this box, therefore when they publish the post, the post does not appear on the Steemit blockchain.

Voila, as soon as you hit publish, the post in your WordPress blog will also appear on the Steemit blockchain.

3. Main Components of the SteemPress DApp

A. Custom Conversion

Stempress plugin handles the conversion of the WordPress html code into the Steemit's markdown. There is no need for you to do any editing when your post appears on Steemit. This saves a lot of time.

B. Default Tags Settings

Your blog usually have the same theme, so you can set default tags settings without keying them in each time.

C. Default tags, Self Vote. Footer text, & Featured Images

Most people like the automatic self voting when they post their article from the WordPress Blog. All you need to do is to tick the box. I don't like self-voting, so I leave it blank.

D. Delayed Feature

Choose when you want the post to appear on Steemit. I put "1" there meaning that the blog post will show up on Steemit in "1" minute.

4. What I like about SteemPress

SteemPress is now a life changing experience for me as an entrepreneur as I work with many clients who are using WordPress building their internet business.

My clients are getting educated of how they can make full use of their blogging websites by coming into the Steem big community using the WordPress plugin. As a result, we are bringing in small communities to the Steem blockchain in the area of music, online courses, drawing, traveling and photography.

5. How SteemPress Can Improve

Sometimes I experience some formatting issues in the WordPress editor that does not come out correctly on my Steemit blogs. So there are bugs that need fixing constantly as SteemPress is still in its beta version.

The two project managers @fredrikaa and @howo have been working full time for the past year constantly improving and making new development. It will be good to get more frequent updates from them so that we can support their work more closely.

6. Events in 2019 Development

We look forward to see a a full two way integration between the SteemPress-based website and the Steem blockchain perhaps by the end of 2019.

7. Comparing SteemPress plugin with other similar plugins

There is no other WordPress plugin that works like SteemPress as this innovative plugin is extremely unique at the moment.

The closest plugin that comes comes close to using the blockchain technology is the SatoshiPay plugin. This is a one click micropayment service that helps generate extra income from your WordPress blog posts.

8. Conclusion - Star Rating

Today, 29% of web traffic goes to WordPress websites. In a matter of years, we will see the best of WordPress content on Steem and also the best Steem features on the WordPress blogs all over the net.
