Components

"And Bible" is an Android app for Bible teachers and students to use to study the Bible on Androids and tablets. This app was created 2 years ago and are now inviting people to make suggestions features that can be added to make the app more effective for users.

I came to know about this app about 2 weeks ago. Since I am a Bible teacher, I am very interested in this app. I am also introducing this app to help a group of Bible students. So there are some neat features that I want to propose to the project owner to enhance the usage of this app.

My Proposal

This APP has a 'FIND' feature which is the same as the 'SEARCH' feature. This is a great feature to have as the Bible is so big and if you want to find a certain word, it lists out to you all the occurrence of the word in the Bible. This in itself is fantastic.

I want to propose 2 ADDED technical features onto the FIND (SEARCH) to enhance the usage of the app for serious Bible students.

• When you "FIND" the word, it takes you to a new window where it lists out all the occurrences of the word in the order of Bible books.

• So sometimes when there are about 100 occurrences of the word, it makes it very difficult to read as you scroll down the list.

1st Add Technical Feature - Highlight the 'search' Word.

• in this way, when the searched word is highlighted, everything becomes sharp and it is not so hard on the eyes as you scroll down the list of verses.

2nd Add Technical Feature - At the top, list out the 'number' of occurrences

• in this way, the user can see right away how many times this word occurs in the Bible
• where there is more than 100+ words, it might show some significance of the theme of the Bible

• When the word occurs frequently, it makes it easier to scroll down to read the list of Bible verses.

Benefits

This makes studying the Bible more interesting and easy for people to use the FIND feature for serious studies. Whenever they want to study a theme, they can type in the Word in FIND, and then when the window pops up, all the HIGHLITED words are in front of them as they scroll down the list. This makes reading much easier and more fun.

And when the FIND occurrences are also listed at the top, they can see how important this word is in the Bible as they compare the word occurrences to other words.
