Contribution to the Airesis Open Source Project

I am slowly getting to the end of this Aiersis Open Source Project Translation to Chinese Traditional Language.

Today, I submit Part 9 of this Translation. This is a mega project of 19,297 words. For Part 9, I have done my share to fit into the new Utopian rule for big projects.

• I finished the 3 parts taking them to 100% translated
• the Main, the Proposal Types, and the Tutorial
• I will finish Part 10 next week to complete the entire work for the project owner and hopefully he can get this out for the Chinese communities to use this app.

The Number of strings and Words Translated

Proof to show that I did the translation work myself.

Here is a screen shot from the Activity Page of Airesis:

I used two days to finish Part 9. I began 2 days ago and finished the other part today to make up of the new requirements given to us by Utopian yesterday.

Although there are only 143 strings of translations in total, but the translation of this part has a lot of words for each string because it is 'main' and 'tutorial', so there are many sentences to translate.

In fact, for a change, I made changes to almost to every single one of them to give more suggestions for the proof-reader to have more choices to choose for the final round. This will give him/her more option to decide for the best translation for this project.

So the actual translation work took about 4 to 5 hours of work.

Here is the bulk of words translated in the Report Section.

On November 20th, I translated 586 words with 91 strings.

I put in the red color box so that it is easy for you to see what I did as part of Part 9. The other curve graph on the left is what was done in Part 8.

On November 22th, today, I translated 1097 words with only 52 strings.

Even though I translated 'less' strings, but I spent many more hours on this part because of the bulk of sentences and paragraphs needing translation. With only 52 strings, I translated 1097 words here.

Here I will show you examples of screen shots to show that the bulk of translation was long sentences. I can't capture all of them, but just 2 screen shots to give you an idea what is involved in this translation.

Conclusion

This Aiersis project is very difficult to translate because it involves a lot of explanation and tutorial to teach people about the e-democracy. This concept is so new that the project manager has to talk about principles of e-democracy, and also to explain the tools to get people to participate and know the kind of choices to make with other people.

For Part 10, I am determined to finish the whole project. There will be another 1,143 words to translate.

I want the moderators to know this is my plan so that you know I want to complete this mega project to finish. This will make it easy for us to work together. Please know that I am not stretching out the translation work at all. I will be very happy when this translation work is finished so that this project can be used by the chinese people also.
