Introduction to Votefund

What is votefund?

Votefund is a new site that is built on the steem blockchain. It will be used for people who want to run crowdfunds on the blockchain. Only posts approved by moderators will appear on the site. There are already crowdfunding projects on the steem blockchain and having a dedicated site to organize them will help them get more attention. All approved content posted through the site will also be upvoted by the @votefund account to support the projects. The benefits of crowdfunding through votefund are low fees(votefund will take only a small(still undecided) percentage of post rewards to keep ourselves going), its free for others to support your fund as they just need to vote, which means that anyone can help support funds that they like.

Roadmap

The project is expected to have a MVP ready by July 1st 2018, and be live on a site right around then as well. The project currently is based off the steemconnect boilerplate developed by @sambillinghaml. The MVP will include: a featured section to show projects selected to be shown upon login, a trending page to show the most popular campaigns made in the past week, a newly created section to show new campaigns that have just been created or renewed as well as a easy to use post creator that will include all the required elements for a crowdfunding campaign.

Difference

Many users already run crowdfunding campaigns on the steem blockchain with the upfundme tag. While that is one way to do it, having a dedicated site will make it much easier to use as well as provide new users an easy way to get started. We will also be providing a template to use which will ensure that they get all the required details in.

Technologies

Votefund is using Node.js, Steemconnect and Steemconnect boilerplate created by @sambillinghaml.

Hey @scipio, I just gave you a tip for your hard work on moderation. Upvote this comment to support the utopian moderators and increase your future rewards!

I guess competition won't hurt, I still plan to move forward. We could have collaborated but one will eventually win out over the other and the loser will be stuck with a hosting bill.

Competition drives innovation. Why improve if there is no reason to? I would love to collaborate if you want to. I remember you saying you were working on something like this, but I wanted to create a different front end for it earlier. Was going to approach you about using the upfundme tag and working together once I had something working. If you would like to, I'm up for working together to create something better than what we can make by our selves.

Yes it does, but now I am busy wondering if the bot missed this because steemauto was upgrading, or because it was posted from utopian.io, I hope it was because of the upgrade.

It was most likely upgrade because I posted earlier today and that didn't get upvoted either by the bot. And I posted on utopian 2 days ago and that worked.
