Suggestion For Well Arrangement Of Comments On Steemit post.

in #utopian-io6 years ago (edited)

It isn't too long I joined this great platform and ever since then, I was enjoying all I have been doing here, posting my articles, following people, making new friends and all that, including commenting on every good articles that teach me something new... Steemit is a very interesting platform to say the truth.

But recently I started noticing all my comment are not where they suppose to be on every article I comment on, e.g if I comment on a post of about 5 minutes ago, any other comment that comes in after mine supposes to line-up under my comment but on steemit.com it is not like that.

EXAMPLES:- Those images below explain better.

image

Here a message came in since yesterday (the one the blue circle), while another came in eight (8) hours ago (the one in a pink circle). Meanwhile, there is still another yesterday message (the message in yellow circle) under the eight hours message.

image
Another example here, In the middle of thirteen(13) hours and twenty(20) hours message, there is another twelve(12) hours message ( the message in red circle).. which was wrong.

image

Here we have twenty hours ago comments in 2 places (those messages in a blue circle) and another thirteen and twelve hours messages at the top and the down of those twenty-hour comments.

image
Here is another one which point out fourteen(14) hours ago comment (the one that was pointed by the red arrow), another comment twenty-one(21) hours ago (the one in the red circle),and another comment sixteen(16) hours ago (the one in the green circle) followed by another comment twenty(20) hours ago (the message blue circle)..

All this can be confusing if one really needs to follow his or her comment on a friend post, the last comment supposes to line up under the old one not scramble with old messages or jumping into the middle of old messages.

Conclusion:- I want on other social media and find out this is not how is it and need to look into. For example, those facebook comment images below.

image
Here we have a comment of one(1) hour ago ( the message in the green circle), followed by a comment fifty-four(54) minutes ago (the message in the red circle), next to the comment that was just posted "Just now" (the comment in the blue circle).

image
Here is another image that clarifies that comment sent in three hours ago (the comment in the black circle), while another one entered two hours ago (the comment in green circle)

image
Another image here says, twelve hours ago (the comment circled in the big red circle), followed by one hour comment in the yellow circle, twenty-five minutes ago in the green circle and seventeen minutes ago in the purple circle.

The Correction To Be Make.

image
In this image (which is what always happen on steemit comment section), all old comments are supposed to stay at the top while new comment stays under old comment just as it is on the facebook comment images.

image
Facebook comments page with well arranged according to the time they posted them.

image
Steemit comments with scattered time arrangements.

If this were corrected, it will be easier for everyone commenting on the platform find it easy to locate there comment in a post.

Thank You.

Nice suggestion as it helps time arrangements, thats what i thought first, but i think the whole comments works as trending, higher upvotes trends than lower, but i would love if this suggestion of yours be impl..........

Yes my bro, but trending or nor shouldn't stop the whole comment to be well arranged, we look at the article not the comment most of the time... Those comments are just additional options to into when reading a post. If twitter, facebook, and other blogs can arrange comments according to the time they are been submitted, nothing stops steemit developer from doing so...

I enter one contest like that whereby I have to be looking around for my comment meanwhile it was at the top before but found my comment in the middle. Thanks for stopping by bro.

You are right about that and i concur with what you said though, very stressful finding yiur comment unless its upvoted the highest.

If Facebook like and twitter love can't move your comment from down to up, I see no reason why steemit vote should be moving comments up and down..
This is decentralize world, it should be full decentralize... If not then we have a lot to all look into.. Which is one the reason why utopian-io is been created to correct all those errors...

😁 😁 😁 😁 you are right about that,

You have made a very nice contribution via utopian. You used the wrong repository which you need to change to steemit/condenser. Please kindly edit your contribution to reapply for approval :)
