Before you contribute and intend to help develop a project with a new Logo.
You should first look into the project. To help you choose a suitable color, idea, etc for the project. I recommend that you make some bright improvement on your next contribution.
You must made a Visual Identity communication about the Project. Your contribution cannot be approved.
