Let me give you a brief overview of this design. I found this OpenSource project that is an Android music player app that puts the emphasis on the album. The idea of the app is to encourages you to play music album by album. If you switch to a different album the app it keeps track of where you left off within a specific album. So I decided to give my contribution designing this logo for the player, a project owned by Lars Willemsens.

For this project the owner requested that the logo had something to do with music albums, suggesting to include a vinyl record, the project had a logo that was a simple poor icon.

After reading the owner's brief, this is the logo I created for this project. For the graphics I decide to star with vinyl as inspiration and created the image of a vinyl with a player button and I put some yellow and white arcs in the vinyl that represent the rotation of the vinyl but also the sound waves.

Finally for the colors I went with the colors suggested by the owner of the project, purple, gray and yellow that created a beautiful contrast. I chose a simple font, to give more prominence to the logo.

Benefits / Improvements

I design this logo because the project has a simple poor icon. I propose this logo to the project owner and he likes it and uses it in his project.
The logo is modern, fresh and gives an identity to the project, that is easy to remember. Font is also clearly readable but neat as well.
