Steemmonsters

Almost everyone on steemit is aware of this card battle game named as @steemmonsters. I started playing this game almost 3 days ago and found some negative features.

Let me explain the game in short words. It is a card battle game. There are some summoners and monsters.
Summoners call a specific type of monsters. Those monsters called by the summoner actually fight the battle. Every card (Summoner/Monster) has some worth in the market.

  • You have to buy a starter pack to start the game.
It was the short introduction to the game.

Proposal Description

  • Let's fix the worth

Basically, my idea is related to the worth of the cards. I suggest Steemmonsters team to limit the minimum price of every card. So that no one can bid below that limit.
There is a daily quest in the game when a person completes it then he gets a booster pack (A pack of 5 unknown cards). Also at the end of the season, people get these booster packs according to their highest rating.
When they open these packs, they get cards. After that everyone tries to sell those extra cards to earn money. Specially newcomer who are here for short term, they bid the value of the card which is much below the actual value. When even a single person bid his card for less value then other people also start bidding for low value. Which as a whole decreases the worth of card cards and at the end worth of the game.

In the above picture, you can see a person has put the card of level 3 in 10$ for sale.
Now, look at another picture of the same card.

A same card of the same level was worth 500$ in the start, but everyone wanted to make the profit and due to this greed of a little profit, they are decreasing the worth and if we see, in the end, they are at loss themselves.

Benefits

If we fix the minimum worth of each card then

  • It will not decrease the worth of cards by a certain amount
  • It will release earlier people(Who invested and supported the game in the start) from the tension of losing their money because of newcomers
  • It will give everyone an idea of every card so everytime they will not have to search in the market and see what's the current rate etc.
  • It will increase the value of the game.

Other Proposal

Steemmonsters team should connect or merge the collection and market. Then it will be more user-friendly. Because everytime when a person has to buy or sell some cards then he had to switch between tabs of collection and market. Then he has to act accordingly.
I suggest that if someone has opened the market and is any card then on the right or left side, his own collection of that card should be shown. It will be then more easy to analyze the rates.

Hi @numanbutt, thank you for your contribution.

You made a nice post and the idea is also good!
Unfortunately SteemMonsters is not open source (please, correct me if I am wrong). The repository that you added in the post is the Python library for the game (check the Readme).

I would love to read your next post :)

Actually, I'm not a coder person. So I wanted to add in ideas.
But if a code is present on GitHub then how it can not be open source? I'm seriously confused, can you please guide me?
I'll really be thankful.

Hi, sorry for the late reply.
The code of SteemMonsters is not present on GitHub. This repository: https://github.com/holgern/steemmonsters is not the game. It's a tool for the game.

if a code is present on GitHub then how it can not be open source?

In general, all the projects hosted on GitHub are Open Source. But, to be sure, you need to check the license of that project. Check this post to read more about repositories.

Thank you for your review, @favcau! Keep up the good work!

What do you say about me suggestion?
