• The design is kinda basic with next symbol and pencil, it could really work if you pay more attention on the placement of the elements. you see that the next symbol and the pencil are looks unbalanced inside the square.

• in your presentatation you said that you use material colors, why just the colors? you can try material design to the whole logo to make it consistent.

• The logo didn't really work in monochrome, as you can see the pencil lose to much of its details.

• I suggest you to improve your design skill, go to pinterest, dribbble, behance, etc for inspirations.
