False search result for some keyword

The Bug

When I search with some keyword under Tutorials, the search result display zero result for the first time. If I hit enter for the second time, it will display the correct result.

How to reproduce

  1. Open https://utopian.io
  2. Select the dropdown beside search box and choose Tutorials
  3. Type laravel on the search box and hit enter
  4. It will display No contributions found

  5. Hit enter again and it will display the correct result

Try different keyword (axios)

Second reproduce

The same bug occur if I open the search url directly.
Example: open https://utopian.io/search/tutorials/codeigniter
It will display No contributions found.
But this time I cannot hit enter for second time because the dropdown back to default.

  • Google Chrome Version 63.0.3239.132 (Official Build) (64-bit)
  • Mozilla Firefox 57.0.4 (64-bit)
  • Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)
  • Found on 8 January 2018
