How To install Kontalk Messenger On Pc
Introduction
Kontalk messenger is one of my best open source messenger application that work just like whatsapp messenger, as it can be used for sending text, image and voice messages. As it can also find out, other user who are using the application. Kontalk Messenger is a XMPP-based secure communication platform, it supports end-to-end encryption and federation.
Today I will be writing out a short tutorial on how to install kontalk on your pc. At the end of this tutorial you will have learn how install kontalk on windows 8
Requirement
Java Runtime Environment
Kontalk mobile application
Kontalk pc latest version click here to download
Step 1
Download and unzip file installation set up for kontalkDesktopApp as it will be currently zipped after downloading. Extract the zip package into a folder on your desktop screen or extract directly to your desktop home page. You will find two files in the folder lib folder and KontalkDesktopApp.jar installation file as shown in the image below.

Step 2
Once you are sure that your Java Runtime Environment is working properly, double click on KontalkDesktopApp.jar file to launch your kontalkDesktopApp.
Step 3 this is where you will need to launch your *kontalk mobile application so as to create a kontalk-keys.zip that will be needed to access kontalkDesktopApp. To do this click on on the three dot as shown in the image below.
Ignore every other options but click on settings > maintenance > Export personal key, if you are using the mobile application for the first time you will be prompted to create a password. Immediately after creating the password the application will convert the password into kontalk keys zip o f which you will need to transfer to your desktop.
Step 4
Now that we have kontalk keys zip you will need to transfer this zip file to the same folder of the unzip folder of kontalkDesktopApp. To do this go back to kontalkDesktopApp click the next button, immediately after clicking that is when you will have option to upload kontalk keys zip generated from our mobile application as shown in the image below.

Step 5
This is the final stage, as you will be prompted to create a new password once you have finish inputting the password hit done button and ensure you have a good and reliable network, on hitting this button I will say you have successfully installed Kontalk on your pc have fun with it. As you can click on the contact button to add more contact as shown in the image above.
