Logo for MusicDNA Player
Hello,
I would like to present you my new logo for MusicDNA player. It is an open source Android app with many features, traditional and advanced. The player is still in beta, but you can download it here.
Details
I wanted the logo to be simpler, but still original and connected to the name.
Benefits / Improvements
There is an existing logo, but it is quite complicated and does not work as well in a smaller size. I made simpler logo which coresponds better with the name MusicDNA and I also added the writing and created more versions of the logo, which can be used not only as an icon. The logo works also in a small size and black and white version.
Tools
First I made a research. I was looking for some graphical representation of DNA and music. There were many possibilities and I got lots of ideas, so I started to make sketches.
When I had enough drawings I wanted to visualize some of them in vectors. I use Corel Draw for the most of my designs.
Here are some of the previous versions and ideas and the process in Corel Draw.
This was the basic icon. Then I was searching for a suitable font.
I was looking for round font, which would be connected to the round DNA spiral design in the logo.
