New Features
with the aim of taking the next important step in the project, which is to look for users, I have been doing some administrative tasks last weeks. The project needs the backing of a formalized company, and for this reason I have I have gathered some friends and we have created the Augusta King Foundation(Webpage under construction yet), a non-profit organization that wants to boost the growth of small businesses and emerging economies through the development of open source applications. The paperwork has been a bit complicated, and we still have a lot of work to do on that side, but we are moving forward.
With the same objective of attracting users to the application, I have been working in change the home page design, the previous design was provisional and very unattractive:
It was a non-scroll page with the signup form, and nothing more. This was not very convenient when it came to showing visitors what the application was about, so it was necessary to change the design of the home to a more attractive one with more information. I must say that web design and CSS development are not among my strengths, but based in the Bootstrap 4 features I can made a good update of the homepage redesign. I have used a very cool library called aos.js, to add animations on the scroll action.
Used photographies must be changed or edited, but this work will be entrusted to @cunigarro. I've been talking to him because there are a lot of adjustments that need to be made as a result of updating the home page.
Let me show you the new home page design:
Now, when users visit https://queryjane.net/en/, they will see the next screen:
Now there is a little explanation about the project, and the navigation bar has links to the companies page and to the jobs page. Signup form has been removed from the home page and now there is a link to redirect users to the new signup form view.
Background photography is cool, but is too big, so it needs to be adjusted, and maybe a soft shadow could generate that the white text be more visible. I'm going to leave this to the designer.
By scrolling, users will see the next section:
This is a small exhibition about the functionalities that are implemented in the platform.
Afterwards, users will see this part:
It is an invitation to users to register their companies and their professional profiles. I don't link these pictures, must be changed, then, this is one of the tasks assigned to cunigarro.
By scrolling we will find a little section describing some benefits of register a company:
And then we find now information about the foundation, about the project and an invitation to contribute:
And finally, the new footer :
Changes are deployed in production server, take a look here.
Detailed code changes can be found in this PULL REQUEST.
Some new tasks has been generated, in addition to creating or editing images, it is necessary to re-structure static files, convert my .css files to .scss files, and fix all these detail that are generated by a backend developer doing css code (Per example, the purple color is different on Firefox and Chrome). Also, now we must to update all the application .html templates from bootstrap 3 to bootstrap 4, there are significant differences between these distributions. So it's necessary to create a good templates structure. I will be talking with cunigarro to get his help in this part.
I have created the sign up page view (Very similar to the old homepage) and I have updated the login page. But there is some design adjustments to do in these pages. Everything will be put in the designer hands, that is a very good .css developer too.

Great commit messages. They're descriptive and consistent. One thing I might suggest using the present tense in imperative mood.
