GITHUB LOGO for utopians using Sketchup Pro 2017steemCreated with Sketch.

finished product utopian logo git (2).png

From the moment that I've known the partnership between utopian.io and github, I started to think what if I should design a logo by combining them both. Actually, I was thinking of creating or designing a coin of utopian.io with the twist of github but because of the "ears" it is hard for me to conceptualize it into a coin. So then it would look better for a logo rather than a token or coin, as you can see the photo above that is my finished product after rendering through vray using Sketchup Pro 2017 version. Since github and utopian.io is strengthening the opensource campaign you can download this logo, at the last part of this post I will give a link. And you can also use this logo that I designed and incorporate on what idea you can also contribute.

Ofcourse, for the evidence that I really made this, I will show you some screenshots of my workspace in Sketchup. Although I did not include a thorough step by step procedure because I think it is too much of a hassle for me. I think the few photos that I am going to show you is enough to prove that it is my original work. Here are some steps I do;

  • First, I import an image of the original logo of utopian.io in the Sketchup which I traced mostly using arc line functions because of the curvy sides and shape of the logo.

  • The screenshot you can see below is the output after I completely traced the whole logo. As you can see that I really detailed it as much as possible that it would look really identical to the original. Although not 100% accurate but maybe 99.99% lol, just kidding.

  • Let's fasten up the procedure, put the logo that I made it 3D already by using the pull function of Sketchup on top of the 3D circular plate like or coin like. How do I put it on top well I just used the move function just simply by selecting the utopian.io logo and pressing "M"at the keyboard then move it carefully by holding the right mouse click button.

  • And lastly by drawing the ears and coloring black and white just how the theme color of github logo. Then rendered it using vray, if you've heard about the vray rendering extension well it is used in a lot of 3D softwares so you might be familiar with it.

I want to share with you different angle views too, where you can see below and the links of the downloadable images and the skp file or sketchup file as well for the sake of opensourcing.
