Suggestion to add new symbol netlist feature on Circuit Diagram
Suggested Feature and Components
I have used the Circuit Diagram app for a few times now. I found out that there are some electronics component sysmbool not available in the platform. So, I suggest to add a feature that will allow users to create a new component symbol using basic drawing tools .
Proposal with Examples and Mock-ups
The proposed feature can be accessed thru the tools menu. This should be labeled as Netlist.
If the Netlist option is clicked, a new symbol editor will appear containing basic drawing tools to create a new component netlist or symbol.
The wizard consist of the following features:
- a drawing tool bar which enables users to draw the unique feature of the new netlist symbol;
- drawing sheet where the users draws in the new netlist;
- a save and netlist name editor that enables users to save the new netlist created; and,
- a maximize/minimize button that allows users to view the wizard either s a dialogue box form or fit in window.
In addition, the basic drawing tools in the wizard is as describe below.
Benefits
If implemented, the user will be able to create non-existing or user-defined symbols as a new netlist in the Circuit Diagram app. In addition, it will help user create diagrams not limited to the current available components in the app. For the app, it will enhance the functionality of the app to be on par with the other circuit diagramming app.
Download
The application can be downloaded at circuit-diagram.org or visit its official GitHub repository release page at circuitdiagram/circuitdiagram
