Introduction

My name is Ebixy Ebi Laffin and I have a page on Facebook where I promote open source applications.

Images and videos over the years have become a part of our daily life. We take pictures almost every day, and they are growing bigger and larger in our archives. We keep most of our images for record and memory purposes.

digiKam helps you to manage your images with several editing tools. It supports a wide range of file formats for everybody.

Campaign Strategy

Choice of target audience
The ad was boosted to Facebook users in Nigeria. My goal has always been to see that open source applications are promoted in Africa and widely used. Open source applications are free and thus with the most of Africa languishing in poverty, they simply cannot afford market standard software which can cost up to thousands of dollars.

People with interest in images, different types of photography and social. I choose social media because people who do social media tend to have a lot of images on their phones or computers.

Objective
The objective of the ad was to get as many website visit/clicks as much as possible. The link on the provides more information about the software.

Ad message and Call To Action
There was a "send message" call to action button in the ad. This was to enable people to contact me in case they had further questions.

The image was sourced from the official website of digiKam

Goal / Conversions and Interaction
There was no interaction in the ad process. No comment and no message, there were a few likes on the post.

The ad was able to reach more than 10,000 individuals with a CTR of about 2.10%. The ad ran for a total of 10 days with $10 spent. This brings the Cost Per Click to a rate of $0.04

The ad reached mostly people aged 18 to 34 years. Making it 84% of the number of people reached. Total male reached; 75.9%, Total female reached; 24.1%
