I made my first steem bot for SteemMakers

Before we start off on the wrong foot this bot is meant to be a 'good' bot. It will help the SteemMakers team by doing repetitive work for them so they have more time for more important things. I've always wanted to learn how steem bots work but I never really found a good reason to make one. Until now that is.

SteemMakers is a community which focuses on uniting, helping and rewarding makers and DIYers on the Steem blockchain. You can find more info about us and how to contact us on our website www.steemmakers.com.

A part of what SteemMakers does is similar to what curation guilds do. The team manually selects posts that are considered worthy contributions. These posts get voted on by the community account and will get featured on the website for extra visibility. Up to now this was a tedious and error-prone work to do. It required logging in to the steemmakers account and do the voting after which the team member needed to log out again to log in with his own account. Needless to say that in this hectic world mistakes happened and will happen. Once the voting was done the information had to be entered in the database so the post gets featured on the website.

The bot will automate a part of the workflow. From now on the team will be able to enter new posts to the database and the bot will keep an eye on this. Once the bot finds a new entry has been made it will automatically vote on it using the community account without any further intervention of the team required. This eliminates quite some work and frees up time that can be spent more useful.
