Tonight: Gitcoin & Byteball -- Utopian.io Open Source Radio Show -- every Wed 7 PM UTC
Utopian.io and MSP Waves are proud to present the Utopian.io Open Source Radio Show, coming to you live every Wednesday at 7 PM UTC on MSP Waves.
Interested in Open Source on the Steem Blockchain and beyond? Looking to hear some inspiring stories and discussions about the Open Source ecosystem? Tune in to the Utopian.io Open Source Radio Show!
We are continuing our review of projects that already have been in the show by welcoming @punqtured from Byteball tonight. A lot of users on the Steem Blockchain can for sure remember the possibility to get free Byteball depending on the reputation you have on the Steem Blockchain.
We are following this up tonight and take a look on how Byteball has done in the meantime.
As a second guest we are all super proud to welcome Kevin Owocki from Gitcoin, a decentralized application built on the Ethereum Blockchain, that follows one simple mission: Grow Open Source!
This sounds familiar to you? To us as well! And we are super happy that Kevin directly agreed to be live with us in our show!
Interested? Join us tonight and be part of the action :)!

Special Guests
The first guest tonight will be @punqtured, Byteball User Acquisition Manager. We already had him in the show a few months ago, shortly after Byteball launched an airdrop here on the Steem Blockchain. This was a brilliant marketing coup back then and we are super interested in reviewing this project now and see how things have developed!
Be around and ask your questions tonight, we are looking forward to have a wide range of interaction with all of you!
Our special guests this week: @punqtured
Our second guest tonight is Kevin Owocki, founder and jack of all trades within the Gitcoin project team.
Gitcoin is a decentralized application on the Ethereum Blockchain, aiming basically at bringing together Open Source Contributors and projects that require help and also trying to incentivize this by adding bounties to certain tasks.
This sounds very familiar to me ;) Basically this is almost the same idea that we from Utopian are following, so we are really happy to be able to talk to Kevin tonight and evaluate possibilities to pursue our common goal.
Be around and help us shape the future!

I'm looking forward to hearing an update regarding Byteball. This seems like a very interesting project that might offer accessibility to the non-programming public for the creation of digital assets and smart contracts. As a researcher, I think that smart contracts could be used to incentivize speedy delivery of research products (e.g., publications). Quite often, a research project is deliberately delayed to logistical considerations that are related to grant funding cycles. Perhaps locking research funding into a smart contract contingent upon publication to Pubmed (oracle) with an aggressive timeline could overcome some of those disincentives.
Is there any recording ?
