How did the Second Week of December behave for Utopian?

We have another set of extremely interesting numbers as we've seen Steemit's fast growth in terms of transactions, marking the most number of transactions in a day! Steem Dollars & Steem's current market value are also one of the most critical factors affecting the Steemit platform today and its a good thing. The platform has been excellent to a lot of users.

Utopian-io is one of the best initiatives Steemit has created. It has never a question how valuable it is to the Steemit community. The way the rewards were distributed to deserving contributors are amazing to see.

So with this analysis, we will be gathering the data with the posts with #utopian-io as part of their tag and be able to compare it with the previous week of data (November 24-30). With that we will be able to see the trend and make some forecasts and predictions accordingly based on the data.

Details of the Analysis

• Data were extracted using @arcange's Steem SQL at December 14, 2017 at 10:26 p.m. (UTC +8).
• The analysis features the posts, votes, payouts, and comments (December 8 - 14) of #utopian-io posts and make some analysis comparing to the same results from its previous week (December 1 - 7).
• We will be able to identify how much increase/decrease in percentage it made.
• Table and Pie Graph Presentations will also be included for a better understanding of the analysis.

Limits and Exclusions

• We are excluding the posts of elear and utopian-io on this analysis for an obvious reason.

These are the consolidated Data happened in December 1 - 7 and December 8 - 14.

The data presented are the total number of posts generated, total number of upvotes made, and total number of comments made by contributors/authors with #utopian-io as part of their tags. Let us also take a quick comparisons on it in the past weeks.

Weekly Total Posts

A slight increase on the number of posts with #utopian-io as their tag. These posts are accumulated from 562 authors posting with #utopian-io as their tag. Let's take a quick look when we present the data on a bar graph :

With the increasing popularity of utopian-io, this is an understandable increase of # of posts. The reasons maybe they wanted to contribute to the platform, other contributors are posting much than they do, or others wanted to maximize utopians voting influence.

Weekly Total Votes

Despite an increase on the number of posts, the total votes seemed to decrease by 31% than the original value of votes (59,890 to 41,268). One obvious reason behind it is because of the pumping of Crypto market prices. Bitcoin's going crazy, cryptocurrency, steem, and most especially sbd which probably I think opted out a lot of users to upvote those kinds of posts, leaving them not attending utopian posts.

A 31% decrease from its previous total weekly number of votes

Things quite amazing is that despite of the recent trending topics generating huge number of upvotes is that the number of posts contributed to increase. Its still a good sign for utopian.

Total Payout Generated

With the 31% decrease of total votes posts with #utopian-io, payout is normally proportional to the total number of upvotes (votes makes our posts valuable). So we can see a dip also on the payouts generated with #utopian-io as part of its tags.

Weekly Total Commentss

Though this may not be directly relevant to the decrease of number of votes and payouts generated during that period, the number of comments tends to decline mainly because the topic of interest right now is different. The rising of altcoins and bitcoins in the market made people shifted their interest to crypto currencies. You can also see it on the graphical presentation mentioned below.

Data Implication

Overall if we think it technically, the slight decrease are understandable. More than 10x SBD's value folds, Steem is at closer to $4 each, and other crypto currencies rose for one of the biggest gains in history.

We don't need to worry or panic about utopian's declining of voters, comments, and payouts. The initiative will always be there rewarding those Steemit contributors, and that the trend will not last forever. The topic of interest is still utopian (nowadays), because it rewarded amazing contributors significantly with decent rewards that they're deserving.

My Prediction and Vision Next Week

I was still not able to pull out the data this week, but I am pretty sure the number of contributions will increase mainly because users are aiming to maximize and increase their payouts to be part of the SBD hype nowadays. Steemit has set SBD as a US-pegged token and this is the reason why they're taking it as an advantage.

So, total posts, comments, votes, and total payout will generally increase. I have to point out, total amount of payouts will surely increase next week because of Steem's value is at $4. This is the main reason why our posts tend to increase much!
