Bugs Found On Steemdb.com
Steemdb.com is a Block explorer and database for the STEEM blockchain. Historical information regarding steem accounts can be found on the website.
A digital bug | Source
When a Steem account is checked on the website quite an amout of information is shown, a graph showing change in followers and change in vests, outgoing votes, incoming votes, replies, rewards etc. Most of the aforementioned information are correct.
On the other hand, there are some incorrect information on the site. The followers count, post count and following count are incorrect. It looks like information taken days/weeks ago. I had to compare with Steemit.com, to confirm if the information I saw was correct. Only a dormant account - account that has not been used in weeks would have accurate information in these areas. Account that has not gained followers in a long time that would also be correct.
Let's compare information found on Steemdb.com with that founder on Steemit.com
This picture from Steemdb.com says my followers is 280, my posts is 580, while my following is 20. This is not correct. But on other hand as said, recent cu ration rewards is seen. This is to show that all other information are correct.
Picture from Steemit.com says otherwise. It says I have 130 followers, 616 posts and 23 following. My previous post can even be seen below.
Take note:
- Steemdb.com is different from Steemd.com. It is mistaken to be same most times.
- The time the image was snapped. The screenshot of Steemdb.com was taken at 10:40pm, while that of Steemit.com was taken 10:39pm. That is to say the image of Steemit.com was taken before that of Steemdb.com. This is for the sake of accuracy of comparison. In an ideal situation, Steemdb.com ought to have a more recent figure.
- The bug is mainly with users who have activity on their blogs daily.
Conclusion
From my analysis, I would conclude that Steemdb.com have an inaccurate figure as regards followers count, posts count and following count. This is a very important part of the website, this should be worked on.
Suggestion
As a Steemian, I would suggest this is looked into. This is one of the oldest tools on steemit. It will mean a lot if it provides accurate figures for its users who have been using the website fromantic the very beginning.
Steps to reproduce
- Visit Steemdb.com/@yourusername (Your Steemit.com username should be used to replace @username)
- Check followers count, post count and following count. It can be found on top of the screen as shown in the screenshot earlier.
Additional information
I used UC Browser 11.4.8 when accessing Steemdb.com. I used a smart phone with good Internet connectivity.
