Ideas for a better SP delegation and to encourage readers to be active curators.

I've been thinking about this issue for a couple of weeks, even I'm a relatively new user I've been thinking about how to improve the SP and the curation rewards in order to get more readers and also more active curators. We all came to steemit with the idea of getting some money in exchange of writing posts, articles, stories, or whatever you write about, and that was basically it. I can see how the number of authors is growing and growing everyday with makes some kind of unbalanced ratio between authors and readers. Steemit should havee some kind of method to reward active and longtime users delegating them SP in relation tu the reputation and time as an active user, for example. You start with (+27.725) delegated SP and level 25 and the SP delegated could increase with the same algorithm as the reputation grows and based on how long you've been on steemit, it means every time you level up your delegated SP level up as well in the same relation, so if you are a level 60 and you are 6 months old on the platform you are gonna have more SP compared to a level 25 fresh new user.
This will not only encourage people to keep growing the reputation account to get more power so you can have more power while voting, it also helps to get more people involved into the curation rewards, so that means there will be more people reading and making a content filter.

Steemit could have a monthly check system to verify death accounts in order to delegate that SP to someone else, not the SP earned by the user but the delegated SP, in this way it will be better distribute between real and active users. With this change applied there will be much more SP used in order to curate more posts and it will be generating and moving more SP each day. It also could have some kind of loan to people with a high curation % earnings, so if a user is getting something between 0.1% and 0.5% os curation they will earn X SP in order to reward that user for a good job. In the same way delegated SP could be taken from the user if the numbers starts to change in a negative way, so other active users could have that SP for them if they earned it.

With this changes it could not only gonna be making more people get into it as a reader and as a curator but it also will be a good way to find better curators for real original and good content. It will balance the numbers of readers and authors and also it could lead to get more SP for those who are truly using it in a benefit for all of us. In the same way people who have a lot of SP could have somekind of reward for delegating part of it to an active curator, if you have 100k SP and you delegate 50k to someone who in the same time is getting rewarded for a good curation job, the lender will have a % of his SP back without taking back de SP delegated to the curator. It means a big benefit for all, the lender, the curator and the authors who work hard for a good post, and because the SP is subject to 13 weeks withdraw it should not affect the STEEM balance in the pool.

I really fell in consonance with your ideas. I cant wait to see it implemented, especially the delegation of dead account SP to active ones, as you have suggested. I approve this.

Steemit could have a monthly check system to verify death accounts

Hi @fivefiveeleven. I used to think as you regarding ‘dead’ accounts.

However, thanks to @lexiconical, I learned that this wouldn’t be a good idea, in that many of the biggest supporters of this platform, financially speaking, are involved in so many other projects growing SP.

Their lack of posting becomes irrelevant, in comparison to the size of their WALLET containing funds which are used to grow and sponsor projects.

I guess the bottom line is, judging the activity of the blog as a reason to penalize users would be a poor criteria for denoting activity.

I hope this makes sense.

Peace.

I totally get your point, but I was not only referring to posting, being active is commenting, upvoting, or even doing anything that includes using at least one aspect of the platform. But I get what you said and is totally true about some big accounts. thanks for sharing your point of view mate.
