What will i learn?

Tutorial Architecture Informatica The Informatica ETL tool consists of several services and components.

Service Repository to maintain Informatica metadata and provide equal access to other services.

Node computing platform where the above services are run.

Informatica Domain

The architecture of Informatica is Service Oriented Architecture, informatica Domain is the basic administration in Informatica devices, this is a collection of nodes and services. These nodes and services can be classified into folders and sub folders based on administrative requirements.

PowerCenter Repository

Power Center repositories are relational databases such as Oracle, Sybase, SQL server and managed by the repository service.

There are three Informatica Clients available in the center of Informatica technology

1. Designer
2. Workflow Monitor
3. Workflow Manager

Access the repository only by using the repository service, To access the repository, use the Informatica service called Repository Service. A single repository service only handles one repository. The repository service can also run on multiple nodes to improve its work.

Domain Configuration

Domain is the basic administrative control in Informatica. This is a parent entity that consists of other services such as integration services, repository services, and various nodes.

The domain configuration can also be done by using the adminatica admin console. Console can use browser websers.

After logging into Informatica domain, the home page will look like below.

In the left pane it shows nodes, repository services, integration services under domains, and in the main window indicates the status of the service, whether it is up or down.

Click on the properties menu on the admin page to view the properties of the domain.

Power center client & Server Connectivity

Power Center is a development tool that is installed on the client machine. Power Center designers, workflow managers, repository managers, and workflow monitors are the primary client tools. Integration Service

The integration service is the executing engine of Informatica, the entity that runs the task created in Informatica.

How it seeks as follows:

1. The user runs the workflow
2. Informatica instructs integration services to implement the workflow
3. The integration service reads the workflow details of the repository
4. Integration service starts execution of the tasks inside the workflow
5. After execution is complete, task status is updated
6. After completion of the execution, a session log and workflow log will be generated
7. This service is responsible for loading data into the target system
8. The integration services will also combine data from different sources

We can also combine data from an oracle table and a flat file source.

The Informatica integration service is a process that resides on the Informatica server, waiting to be assigned to execution. When we run the workflow, the integration service will receive a notification to run the workflow. After the integration services read the workflow to find out details such as tasks to be executed such as mapping and timing. The integration service will read the task details from the repository and continue the execution.

Sources and Targets
