Unfortunately, there exist opened issues covering the pin feature. Here's one - https://github.com/esteemapp/esteem/issues/271. In cases like this (especially when the issue is still open), you should leave a helpful comment to the PO on the previously opened issue, pointing out new findings.

There has been numerous reports addressing the back button to be non functional, especially when needed to return to a previous menu. These contributions can be found below:

There exist more of these reports but to list a few. Though the areas are different, the cause is the same (the back button).
