I see the above issue has now been rectified in this PR - https://github.com/knacksteem/knacksteem.org/pull/124. It is a simple bug, thus the very simple 3 line steps.
Although this particular issue has been fixed - are you aware that you can include in your reports an analysis of what possibly led to the app displaying in your own words "an absurd date"? You could also propose a fix. Doing any of these will further add value to the reports.
