The PO acknowledged the said behavior to be true. In his words "for now it forwards user to Activities/Notifications page but we have exact same behavior on our todo list".

Meaning they were aware of the behavior before the report and already had it on their todo list. It is a good observation, although it is an intended feature which they have promised to improve on in an 8 week milestone.
