This is a good alternative to the Promoted section but, as you said, most users use the services of bid bots, and in my opinion the only way to implement the Cosmetic upvote is removing the bid bots, and that will not happen in the near future.

I recommend you to use the template in your next contributions, this is optional but welcomed.
