Components

Steemit is a social platform built on the steem blockchain which rewards the activities of users and different social activities are been done among which is the contests, the contests here are been done but not well regulated with the hosts and contestants abusing and sometimes some of the contests might end up as scam, since there are no regulations on it like in other aspects like introduction which its abuse might bring flagging and plagiarism as well among few. Some of the results of the none regulation of the contests might be seen below:

Contest hosts

  • some of the hosts sees this as an avenue to bring more visibility to their blog thereby asking the contestants to carry out some tasks to promote such.
  • they tend to extend such a contest if their desired contestant is not the one winning, hence using the efforts of the stremit community for their selfish interests.
  • some of the hosts may end up not rewarding the winners of the contest with the promised reward they used to attract the contestants.
  • Some hosts as well also, tend to change the rules later after the contest is over just to defraud the contestants.

Proposal

Contests on stremit should have regulations and breaking out of the regulations should attract penalty which could be in form of flag.
In making a contest the host is to state the type of contest maybe it is upvotable or none upvotable, and for the contests the host should give the following details ...

  • the contest title
  • contest type (upvotable or non upvotable)
  • requirements and rules
  • price
  • entry closure date ( to reduce late entries in upvotable contests)
  • date and time in which the contest will end (it should end in max of hour after the stated time) the ending indicator could be in form of post or comment, just to make other contestant know the contestis over and winner is known .

Now, failure to comply with these could attract flagging , just has steemcleaners and other regulatory community does to spammy posts.

Mockups / Examples

Below is how a comment that will be dropped on contest hosting defaulter's post will lookIMG_20180429_133042_779.JPG

Benefits

  • it will help to create more trust in activities of the steemit community.
  • it will help to reduce contest price paying defaulting .
  • it will also help regulate and reduce spamming of the contest rules.
  • it will bring sanctions on the activities of scammers on the platform.

Hello @falopey, Your contribution can not be approved as this seems to be really trivial and non technical.

You are adviced to always suggest things that will most probably have great impact on the project.

Example of good contributions can be found here here here and here

  • Contests on steemit is solely based on the owners rules, it is left for the contestants to abide by the rules. Suggesting that rules should guide them and they should be flagged is not right. Owners have the right to choose rules as the contest price is theirs.

Thank you.
