Not sure this was the best choice for the logo. The project is not affiliated to Steemit but to Steem (blockchain). You picked the logo of Steemit.
Thanks for the feedback @espoem. I initially did consider adding aspects of blockchain, but when resized to a smaller icon, it made the logo messy and I wanted to retain the theme of having a person speaking to represent voice recognition. The Steemit logo since it is in the shape of a person and is a representative of technology built on the blockchain is something that most people will recognize with. Below are some of the other 3 samples I originally came up with but opted to remove. I did add them to the share though to provide more options in case there is a use for them.
