Thanks for the heads up.
This was happened because the public RPC node of in use was lagging. This is not exactly a bug in the code. So, I can't accept this as a valid bug-report. Sorry about that.
I have ideas to have a private node (this will make steemrocks very much faster), however due to costs it's not on table yet.

Thank you for the detailed information. Steem.rock is the application I use most often for steemit. it's reacting very quickly right now.
