Utopian.io is the only platform rewarding Open Source contributions with Steem. It became very popular recently but it is only less than 2 weeks old. For this reason I am bringing many new features almost every day and today I have just made something for my amazing team The Utopian Moderators.

This is again another big effort to make sure quality is the first factor in the Utopian Platform.

Rules Now Built in The Editor

Many users had issues understanding the Utopian Quality Standards, so I built them into the Editor directly. Before writing anything, every user has now to accept the specific rules for the category he is willing to submit a contribution to.

The Editor Checks The Quality

Before submitting Utopian will check the quality of your post based on various params and in comparison to the averages of all the other contributions posted in the same category. If Utopian thinks something has to be fixed, this is what happens.

This change should also reduce the effort of the Utopian Moderators.

New Tools For the Crew

Until today was only possible to either verify a contribution or leave it pending. This was messy for the Utopian Moderators and really hard to manage. Now 3 more options are there.

• Hide forever: The post is spammy or makes no sense or the user is not responding to the moderator requests for more than 48 hours. Adios...the post will never show up in the Utopian feed. It is in the blockchain but only there.

• Pending Review: Will put this contribution in a specific section for the moderator to go there again and check if the user has done the requested changes. This contribution will not show up again for the moderator reviewing it in the generic review section, so the moderator can easily go back to contributions that he has already checked and go checking those that still need to be checked.

Will also tell to all the other moderators that another moderator is already on it. Every moderator can still hide it forever or accept it if the moderator reviewing this contribution takes too long once the user has completed the requested changes.

• Verified: Will push the contribution to the Utopian feed.

Contributions to be reviewed can now also be sorted by categories.

Moderators Now Have to Be Verified

Until today moderators were anyone with rep higher than 50. We had few issues with some users having reputation higher than 50 but not very good in moderating and assuring quality.
