Succinct Wallet History, Anyone?steemCreated with Sketch.

One of the beauty of STEEMIT, other than it being a decentralized platform, is that it is also very transparent in many things.

Anything and everything that you do is in the blockchain, and may be reviewed should there be a need to.

Let's take the financial transactions using STEEM, the base currency in steemit and Steem-Based Dollars (SBD), also another currency with a unique characteristic of always being valued at one dollar in the steem platform, as examples. These are are recorded in the blockchain, and you can view your transaction records in your account wallet screen.

How to, do you say? Just click on WALLET, scroll further down, and there you will find the History section.

History will show all the inflow and outflow of STEEM and SBD on the account.

Sending STEEM to contest winners, receiving SBD from random users, using the PROMOTED feature or boosting the article through bots, exchanging your STEEM to SBD and vice-versa, every single intricate detail has a record on the blockchain and can be viewed via History.

This is well and good! We can easily find previous transactions made on the account! Easy peasy right?

Maybe, if you are about a week-old on the platform.

Since literally all transactions are recorded, after a few months, your History screen might just be the length of China's Great Wall.

An exaggeration of course, but the data can be lengthy, making it difficult to find a specific transaction done while back, should you have the inclination, or the need to.

Here's a thought, what if we can put a little order on the Wallet History screen?

From this:

To this:

See the difference? It is actually very subtle- just an addition of a drop-down button under History.

Once the carat is ticked, it will show a section of date ranges-

  • Current Week will include the dates on the existing week
  • Last Week will include the dates of the previous week
  • This Month will include the dates for the current month
  • and a drop-down for all the previous months.

Selecting one of the options should give the detailed data for that period. This will allow the user to narrow-down searches for specific transactions, saving time and effort in the process, not to mention that the page looks more organized now.

And there you have it! A cleaner, more organized Wallet History section. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated, but I must say this is something I would welcome on my STEEMIT page!

It would be a nice touch. These are all the little details that I would expect built in as time goes on. Once the main concerns are dealt with they should start adding those handy little extras to the site.

Thank you for what do this community, because you help us with excellent ideas. Congrats!

Very organised lola..i would love that!!

Great idea it takes forever to scroll back eventually my phone just stops and can't go any further.

This is a nice idea @dreamiely - really helpful. Cause sometimes I need to dig tons of places before I get to the thing I need in the history.

Well, that's a good Idea!
