RE: Translating Prestashop To Arabic - #01

in #utopian-io6 years ago (edited)

Hi @samhamou,

Thank you for your contribution.

    • Most of the translation is correct with a few minor imprecisions. Thanks to the hard work done by the previous contributors to this project, almost all the strings left have one or even more translation memory suggestions, which is something very helpful for someone who plans to deal with this project. Yet, those suggestions can contain many incoherencies and minor mistakes that need to be corrected. And as mentioned in the Arabic sheet try to avoid pushing 2 strings with different meanings, because this will imply that you are not sure of the meaning and the string needed more research first. I have also tried to do my best to rephrase, reformulate, correct, and punctuate as many strings as I can (quite big number of wrods), and I am for sure open to discuss how we can improve the translation of any string.
    • You did a great thing by gathering more intel on the RTL issue. Any translator should do the proper research prior to the translation, a good example would be the case with @alejohannes because of the variables issues on a well-known project. He posted a contribution on Steemit just to explain and let people t know how to deal with the issue, a very good contribution by the way. Those kinds of solutions and information are meant to be shared with the people who will significantly benefit from. I sincerely believe that people should not consider this type of information as an Ace card or monopolize it for personal purposes/gains. @libanista was the first catalyzer of those fruited investigations with the PO and managers, which lead us and resulted to a final solution (Personal thanks to Louise Bonnard) that I made available for all the translators in our team, and the other teams by the same occasion.
    • The presentation is decent, even though there are few minor things that should be easily rectified, you need to add the image credits and fix the punctuation.
Looking forward to your next contribution one the Quasar Documentation project.
