RE: With Steem Dollar gaining Value, A New Threat Emerges For Steemians And It Needs To Be Addressed

in #utopian-io7 years ago

Don't you think that accounts with a value of 100k-200k$ are already in the area where it is dangerous? After all, it's pretty simple and relatively fast to remove the money from the platform and funnel it into something untraceable.

Yes, I think they are in the danger area, but I do not think there are enough people currently dedicated to the crime of cryptocurrency, so I do not think that a part of them is dedicated to stealing here in Steemit, I think we still do not have that problem, but it is as you say, it is possible that it was generated later.

But with the impossibility to remove content with personal information when this type of crime becomes a thing, don't you think there should be something done now to make sure users don't post too sensitive information that can be used against them in the future? My argument is that it is the carelessness of now that will lead to problems later. At least the Platform should prepare itself a bit to counter the development before it becomes relevant.

Right. But I think that each person should take responsibility for this and take care of himself, after all, people who publish personal things here, make money in the same way, if we prevent it, it would not be fair on our part, everyone should decide whether you will take the risk or not.

ok, I don't disagree on that. But I do have two suggestions to this:

  1. Users should be made aware of that, because the success of crypto can com suddenly and it is an uncharted land (also in terms of crime)
  2. In its own interest, Steemit as a platform should implement procedures to help users in regard of this issue.

I agree with that.
