Project Details

We all know and love Steemit, a blockchain based Social Media/Blogging platform. The project was already translated in various languages, such as Spanish, Russian, French, Italian etc. Steemit has a somewhat big Greek community and having a Greek translatin of the interface will bring more people from Greece here.

  • Translation Overview

The translation is about half-way ready (subject to @ruth-girl's proof-reading & verification of course).

The project is very demanding and there has to be a proper continuity across all strings. There are many "difficult words" for a newbie of the platform, so keeping it as continuous as possible is a first step in having more happy users around. For this reason, I opted to heavily rely on the "terms" functionality CrowdIn offers, and it helped a lot.

Hopefully, the translation will be 100% complete within the weekend.

  • Languages

The project was translated from English to Greek. I'm a native Greek and because of my job (programmer) English is a "must learn" language.

  • Word Count

Using my proprietary method of calculating translated words, I estimate that I have translated around 1300 words so far (1417 on the screenshot, minus a 10% for untranslated words & variables).

Hello @dimitrisp and thank you for contributing to the Davinci-Utopian translation project.

This was your second translation we have received.
The Steemit project is demanding and we should pay attention to make terms and functions as clear as possible to our fellow Greek users, especially the newcomers.
After having proofread and evaluated your work, here are my comments:

  • Your grammar, syntax and punctuation are correct.
  • Your vocabulary is accurate, certain words were purposely left untranslated as they were technical terms broadly used in other languages (Greek as well).
  • Your presentation post is very well-formatted, fit to your personal style, clear and by the Davinci-Utopian guidelines.
  • Your cooperation and eagerness to review any corrections pointed out to you was admirable.

All in all, you provided a good translation, with correct language use and any obscurity is not due to you not knowing but because of the uniqueness of specific terms that do not exactly match the Greek language.
Well done! Thank you once again for your hard work!

Καλησπέρα! Άντε με το καλό να το τελειώσεις! :)

I have a few friends in Greece that want to join the platform, but they unfortunately, don't know much English.
Your work will be a major help to them and the rest of the Greek community.
Great work!

Can you please stop spamming about bible? I'm not interested.
