SteemiAPP - An update about the project

It's about time to release a statement about the status of the project, as it's been almost a week since the last update, and before that I was releasing an update every 2-3 days.

The development has slowed down a little bit. I've messed up my sleeping cycle and in combination with the summer heat and some one-time jobs I got, haven't left me much time to work (talking about 3,5 hours of sleep each night, which is catastrophic for a developer)

But apart from that, a lot of progress has been made. I have restructured the app's visuals a little bit, to make way for the new features. Here are a couple of screenshots showing the changed UI:

As you can see, you will now be able to check your Voting Power on the main screen, as well as your reputation on the App Menu. The yellow progress bar is ugly, but the color depends on the percentage like this:

• VP less than 20%: Red
• VP between 20% and 40%: Orange
• VP between 40% and 80%: Yellow
• VP more than 80%: Green

Calculating Reputation

Steemit Blockchain provides an integer for user's reputation, like this: 9840629506579. To change it to the reputation number showed in a user's profile, this mathematic formula has to be used:

UIReputation = Log10(RealReputation) - 9
UIReputation = UIReputation * 9 +25

This results in the reputation of ~60 I currently have.

Calculating Voting Power

Steemit is lazy. For good reason though, imaging to have to calculate the VP of all your users constantly. We are talking about a huge amount of CPU power! So, the blockchain calculates your VP when you upvote. It won't recalculate it if you don't make any upvotes.

@stoodkev provided a formula on how to calculate the real VP a user has:

VP + (10000 * Time_In_Seconds_Since_Last_Upvote / 432000), with max value 10000 (that's 100.00%)

New features

I'm also working on adding the feed you are seeing when browsing Steemit, as well as various other account info. I will reveal all of these in the coming days when I release the new version. I will do extended testing before releasing it.

In the meantime I decided to make the release cycle of updates a little bit slower, in order to update more tested & stable features.
