How To Publish a Task Request/Announcement through Utopian.io for your Open Source Project
Here are the steps for project owners/managers on how to publish a post about something that they need help with on their project.
A few things that owners need to take note of:
- Their project has to be Open Source and has a public Github repository.
- Their Utopian.io account needs to be synced with Github.
- What type of help they need, there are currently 8 categories.
Let's Start the Tutorial:
First step that a project owner needs to do is go to his Utopian Profile Page:

https://utopian.io/
Then they have to be under the "Projects" tab on their Page, so that their Github repositories will be listed under that page.
They simply select the Repository they need to work on, in our example we will choose the repository for Oh Steem:

This action will launch a new page, the project page for Oh Steem where all contributions and tasks will be published:

Owner will need to navigate under "Task Requests":

Then click on "Add task request", this will launch a new page where they can select the Category of the task and explain some rules.
As of the moment there are 8 categories available:

- Thinkers
- Developers
- Bug Hunters
- Translators
- Designers
- Tech Writers
- Data Analysts
- Influencers
The rules will be stated as you select a category from those options, all the rules will be listed here: https://utopian.io/rules. In my sample, the Developers category, the rules will be the following:
- In this category you can only write if you are looking for developers joining your crew.
- You must provide all the details for the developers to contribute to your project.
- Documentation, Repositories, Communities (e.g. Slack, Discord) and specific details are necessary.
Not respecting the rules will either give you lower exposure or your task request won't be accepted.
Most categories will have a rule or two in common, make sure to review the rules attentively before proceeding.
Once done, simply click on the "I understand. Proceed." button:

This will launch the post editor and you can start making your announcement here. A few things that are there or that you can do are the following:

Github project will be pre-selected depending on what repository you opened.

Contribution Title and Write Your Story will be your main focus in creating the announcement - make sure the things and details you add there are relevant and stays formal.

You're also able to select 4 additional tags from this space, the first one will always be "#utopian-io" which will be pre-selected as well (making it 5 tags in total) so you do not need to manually add it at all.

Choose how your rewards will be distributed:
- 100% Steem Power
- 50% SBD and 50% SP
Once you're done with everything, simply hit the "Post" button and your Task Announcement will be published into the Blockchain.
