Introduction

@ckole(the laughing gas) is here again with the second series of a survival manual. As always, I appreciate everyone who dims it fit to read my blog post. Thanks a great deal

I explained some important things in the first series of this article.
The fact that we've all neglected the old ways of doing some things was touched. The images of the two missing people I placed in the content shows that people get lost every day.

I followed up the search of these youths to know about the details. Only Marian Cornell was found. If the other isn't located, Its a big tragedy. I don't know the state his families would be by now. There is an adage in my native language that says Omo mi Ku o San ju Omo mi nu lo. This means it's better for one's child to die than get missing. When someone dies, we know such person is gone forever. When he is missing, we are always hopeful that one day he would come home. What if the missing person is dead and the corpse isn't recovered? The family would keep hoping. Expectation postponed always make the heart sick. Better not get lost, or get lost and find your way back home on time.

The life we are living in is full of uncertainties. The things we never plan for happens. I showed in tabular form the number of search and rescue by a forest reserve here

I didn't talk much about the content on the app in the first series. It was an introduction. I called peoples attention to how important it is to learn some skills that might be useful one day. Now that I've cleared the air, I would go deep into survival manual features. Take a deep breath and get ready for the real deal.

Post body

There are many people going on adventures. People going to the forest to spend days, weeks, or even months. Some go on a Boat ride, Fishing, and so on. Hiking has become a national recreational activity. People can walk as far as they want in the forest, or among hills and Mountains. All these are intentional practices. Accidentally, some people might find themselves in places like this in the case of kidnap and so on. So whether it is a planned journey or not, Survival manual features are beneficial. The manual explains in details all you need to know about surviving in many situations. Treated in this article would be part of these features.

The features

• Planning

The first thing that would help during the survival period is the plans you've made in getting ready. This feature explains the importance of planning. Are your kits complete? Have you taken your time to study where you are going? What do you know about the weather and climatic condition of the area? Preparation against all contingencies will enhance your chance of survival. The planning feature educates on how to go about planning for a future purpose.

• Kit

A survival kit comprises of equipment, device, or basic tools that we can use during an emergency. When a kit is packed, it will go a long way in increasing the possibility of scaling through the survival period. The feature teaches how to prepare your survival kit. Many people pack things that are not useful in the kit. With this feature, it is easy to select the appropriate tools needed for the Journey.

• App

This is another feature that is very important.

A phone can be a versatile tool when you install and use the right app.

Surely, that is the main device that can serve the purpose. When a mobile device doesn't have the right applications to be used in the case of survival, then its less useful. Mobile phones can be used to carry out some functions in case of necessity. Apps like map/navigation, compass, Morse signal, offline translation dictionary, and so on. These apps might be useful one way or the other for finding your way out. This feature also mentioned having apps like games, and music to fight boredom to keep the mind at ease.

• Basic medicine

The content of this feature is more than 4,000 words if I'm not exaggerating. It's very wide. I love the fact that the write up is very detailed.
Apart from that, the feature explains bit by bit the type of injuries that can be encountered. Life-saving steps were also outlined. Some are listed below.

• Control of severe bleeding using many techniques.

• Prevent and treat shock.

• Treat Bone and Joint injuries.

• Treat various bites like Snake bite, Scorpion bite, Spider bite, and so on.

• Treat open wounds.

There is still another treatment mentioned. The explanation of the intestinal parasite and its remedy got my attention. If infested by a parasite, a Home remedy is the next option if there isn't medicine around.

• Remedies

Salt water: Dissolve 4 Tablespoon of salt in 1 liter of Water and drink. Do not repeat the treatment.

Tobacco: Eat 1 or 1 &1/2 off a cigarette or approximately 1 Teaspoon (pinch) of Smokeless Tobacco. The nicotine in the Tobacco will kill or stun the worm long enough for your system to pass them. If the infection is severe, repeat the treatment in 24 to 48 hours.

Kerosene: Drink 2 Tablespoon of Kerosene. If necessary, you can repeat this treatment in 24 to 48 hours.

I never knew we could use Kerosene for such purpose. This part looks disgusting, but who knows, it might be a lifesaver in such case.

• Poisonous plants

Poison in most cases leads to death. This wonderful feature treats various poisonous plants. When plants aren't identified, coming in contact with them can be dangerous. Some plants become poisonous only when we consume them. Some react when they come in contact with the skin or through inhalation. This feature states further that it is good to learn and identify plants in case of necessity. The Table below shows some poisonous plants.

All these plants are poisonous. If you aren't aware of this fact and you feed on them or use their extract for any purpose, it might lead to death.

Comparison between Survival manual and Wilderness survival tips

Both apps are alike in the sense that they give helpful tips for survival. Still, they are very different in many aspects.

1. Survival Manual is organized while wilderness survival tips aren’t. The survival manual features list all its features accordingly. You can get the precise information you need by clicking on the right features.

2. Wilderness survival tips don’t have a single diagram that teaches how to go about some things. But, you would find a lot of them on survival manual.

3. Most of the tips explained in wilderness survival tips can be accessed online by watching videos. Few were explained in written form. You cannot study further if you have no data or in an environment where there’s no network. You don’t have to worry about that with survival manual because it’s an offline application. All the information you need is readily available.

Conclusion

We survived, You and I. And those who survive have a duty. Our duty is to do our best to keep on living. Even if our lives are not perfect.

Part of our duties is to garner information on how to live our lives. We work to make ends meet. We guide our homes against attack. We secure our lives and properties every day. All these are ways of survival. If we fail to understand some facts, we might do things the other way round. For example, if one poisonous plant is ingested, it would be a deadly encounter. It is good to be informed.
