Hello dear Steemians, today I will teach you about "How to Manipulate your Photo into Sketch" using GIMP software. This is an easy tutorial and newbie friendly.

GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a free and open-source raster graphics editor used for image retouching and editing, free-form drawing, converting between different image formats, and more specialized tasks

Before we start, you need to prepare your GIMP software. If you don't have it, you can download it in their official site
Download GIMP Official

If you already open your GIMP software, just follow the steps below.

How to Manipulate your Photo into Sketch

  1. Prepare your GIMP software and then Open the image that you want to manipulate. I get my photo from Pixabay

  2. Next part is to click Layer > Duplicate Layer .

  3. Click Colors and choose Desaturate > Luminosity , you also can choose Lightness or Average but I prefer Luminosity.

  4. Next click Layer > Duplicate Layer and after that click Colors > Invert.

  5. After that you need to choose the blur effect, Click Filters > Blur > Gaussian Blur , and then set the Blur Radius [ Horizontal(3.0) and Vertical(3.0) ]

You can set another range of number for those Blur Radius but I reccomend 3.0 for the best result.

  6. For the final part, you need to change the layer mode by click on Mode > Dodge

I hope you guys can follow my tutorial well, I'm trying to be as simple as possible so you guys won't miss a single thing.

Thank You for your time, See you next time!!
