Learn how to create and edit Fretboard Diagrams in MuseScore. There are some work arounds I will go through to help you customize your chord charts so that they fit your specific needs.

Description

Learn how to select 'Advanced" Pallettes layout

By default the Pallettes display is set to 'Basic.' This gives you a limited number of essential elements you can use in your scores. The Fretboard Diagrams element is not viable in Basic view. At the bottom of the Pallettes window you can choose 'Advanced' which will give you many more options.

Learn how to insert a fretboard diagram into a score

Bringing a fretboard into your score is not a difficult task. Left-click and hold a diagram and drag it onto the beat where you want it. Musescore will snap the diagram onto the beat and place it above the score.

Learn how to edit the location of a fretboard diagram

You have two options for changing the location of your diagram. You can drag your diagram with your mouse and it will stay where ever you release it. The second method is to select the diagram and go to menu View->Inspector. This will give you the Inspector window for that specific diagram. You can use the horizontal and vertical adjustments to move the diagram.

Low to create specific fretboard diagrams

With the Inspector window still open you can click Properties. This will open a new window in which you can edit the fretboard diagram. The video tutorial gives you detailed instructions on all the aspects of this window.

Learn how to enter and edit chord names

If you would like to put the name of the chord found in your diagram under the diagram you can use the Text element in the Pallettes window. Drag and drop 'Staff Text' onto a specific note in your score. You can edit the text by double clicking on the text. To save your changes you click anywhere else in the score. To move the text you can drag it or you can use the tools found in the Inspector window, same as the fretboard diagram tools.
