Details
This is the character design for Utopy - The way he is depicted or the style/execution of the character is not settled.
It is about the character/shapes to form the distinctive, recognizable mascot for Utopy.
In this blog I'll show all the steps I took to get to this character.
I made some body sketches and changing the expression a bit to give him some emotion as I can imagine him being used in more then one way..
Colored them up to see how that would look :)
I picked the one i Liked best , sized him up and started to add some more complexity, with the idea to fully paint him up
Add some more warm tints to him as he is a friendly little guy ;) and also smoothed some of the rendering

Started on paper with simple sketches, then brought into photoshop and worked it all up from there.

I really Hope you guys like this character.. Again it is about the design of the character in this..
The execution/style of him is just my own and we could always change this if he is picked out to be the official Utopian.io mascot!

Couldn't you have used some vector application to trace your sketch and then color it up? I mean it looks awesome but it would fit better with Utopian if it didn't look like a painting. It's just my humble opinion :) Also your post contains a little informality and that might sometimes give a you a lower score but that doesn't matter as long as you don't care about the scoring. Still great work man, you're talented!

I really just wanted to set up the character, as mentioned.. theres plenty of more ways/styles we could depict him i guess :D
That’s such a great idea to have it in multiple expressions! I love seeing the contrast between your sketches to the finished image. It’s so cool!

It looks like Thanos but a much more adorable version hahaha. I really liked the final result of your drawing and the fact that you took the time to share each step of your work. The shading effect is excellent and gives a very realistic touch. I hope you are the winner of the contest because your illustration really has a great quality. Thanks for sharing, luck.

Very cool, I like the purple color scheme. Fun to see the process you went through to make it. After reading the other comment about him looking like Thanos, I have this unshakable image of Utopy being Thanos as a kid. He just needs an infinity stone to play with.

Hi! I love your mascot! But you have to use the tag - graphics - as a second one, right after - utopian-io, and delete - task-graphics - from the tags :)
