There has been so much about utopian.io that contributors do not know, i seem to find the contributions so restricted to utopian.io, steemit, and busy, yet they do not understand that there are so many projects that you can contribute to and you will get paid in sp one good example is drupal! There is almost no contribution about that. Contributors, widen your horizon, utopian-io is too big to be restricted to the big three.


Working with utopian-io for more than a week now gave me the impression that the face of utopian.io is changing, recently @elear called contributors to design landing pages. And you can see contributors doing great jobs in design. As this project moves forward i see that more and more contributors are coming in. And as they come in each with a different device, has a challenge that needs to be solved. These challenges can either be handled by FAQ(as suggested by a contributor) or directly by the mods. As at now the only way to get in touch with the mods is only through the discord app. As this project becomes wider and wider their will be a need for a ‘contact support' section on the site.

My suggestion

I am suggesting that there be a ‘contact support' section on utopian.io which should be linked with email, such that answers to questions from any one can be directed to their mails.

When you take a look at these designs you see that the layouts looks like a chat, but don't mix it, its not a member-to-member chat, it is a contact support area. This replies you immediately if the support is online, or send the reply to your mail if peradventure you closed the tab or lost connection.
And it is important to note that the works of support is slightly different from a mod. For example mods approve contributions and ensure quality. But a support takes care of technical glitch, takes any question, relate with the mods if the query is pertaining to them, supports also relate with the boss in this case @elear, meaning a support must have adequate knowledge of the techs and devs.

Well for now the two roles might have been combined as our mods also do the work of support, kudos to them. But i believe this may not work again as the project becomes larger and larger.

I am suggesting that the contact support option should be visible on every page on utopian-io or part of the option (screenshot below, : the red marks)

Benefits of Contact support option



In addition to the cogent benefits mentioned above:

  • It will save alot of stress especially for people using PC. If not they have to toggle between the discord app and the PC

  • It will help the moderators, devs and support to check the problems stated one after the other as in a separate folders instead of scrolling up and down on the discord app to tackle each question sent by users and contributors alike.
