Analysis: Spanish Community 2017 Statistics

The goal of this analysis is to get the overview of Spanish community results in 2017 with numbers, explore its growth and find some interesting details about it.

1. Scope of Analysis

• Date of the analysis: 28.01.2018
• Timeframe of the analysed data: from 01.01.2017 to 31.12.2017

2. Tools

• Valentina Studio to get data from SteemSQL;
• Google Sheets to organize and sum up data;
• Google Data Studio to make graphs.

3. Posts, comments, unique authors

9044 authors created 130966 posts with spanish tag and more than 324243 comments have been written under that posts. That means every post in average has 2,48 comments.
It is interesting that 59% of posts (78828 posts) were created under ‘spanish’ category (the first tag of the post is used to be a category) while other 41% (54507 posts) were created under some other category but have spanish in it’s tags.

There was a rocket jump in growth from May to July (19x growth compared to April) and slight decrease in number of posts in October and November.


Here is the graph with unique authors by month:

From July till November at least 2,2k unique users made some posts under spanish tag. And the record was set in December with 3,9k unique authors.

4. Payout distribution

In 2017 authors and curators got:

• $397043.18 as author rewards (in SBD and STEEM POWER)
• $103183.50 as curation rewards (in STEEM POWER)

27.61% of all spanish posts got 0$ in payouts. 45.46% of posts got something between $0.01 and $1.
18.44% of posts got from $1 to $10. Only 0.22% of posts got more than $100.

7. Сonclusion

Hispanic community is very active and demonstrated significant growth from May till September. In autumn there was a small decrease in number of posts but in December the community set a new record.
