Community standards documentation
We are proud to announce that the SteemSwitch project now has all the files on the github community standards checklist. We are currently a small project run by myself as lead developer, and @dana-varahi as head designer and junior developer.
However we do want this project to be open to outside contributions and getting a complete set of community standards documentation will hopefully further this aim.
Complete list of community standards documents...
- README I wrote this to give a basic overview of the project, and provide a link to the Mozilla Add-on page.
- Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct, the community standards we have chosen to uphold. The basic idea is to foster a friendly environment for all contributors regardless of nationality, first language, race, gender, sexuality, physical ability, etc.
- Contributor guidelines. How to contribute. We will expand these further, but these should prove a good starting point. This is the technical details on how to contribute, and when it is okay to post your contributions to SteemSwitch on Utopian.io, an issue that probably hasn't affected many projects in github, but has come up for us fairly recently.
- GPL3 License. This bit isn't new, we started with this license. This both a Free Software (as in Libre) and Open Source license, which basically means you can use it and modify it, and distribute your changes so long as you distribute these changes under the same license.
- Issue template. This will prompt those adding a new issue to the tracker to ensure better quality issues.
Help required.
We have been having an issue with the new tab not opening in the correct instance. See this stackexchange question if you have experience with Firefox WebExtensions and think you can assist.
Even if you can't, voting for this question (if you have a stackoverflow account with enough reputation, will help give it visibility and hopefully get us the answer we need).

Hi, your post is well structured. Thank you for your contribution on Utopian. It is also great news that you openly welcome new contributors for your project. I will therefore approve this post on Utopian.
Thank you. I think an answer has now been posted on stackoverflow. I don't have time to test it till tomorrow, but I expect it probably solves the problem I have been having. I wasn't sure if this submission met the utopian standards because it kept complaining I needed more narative. I kept editing and adding more, but it was never satisfied. In the end I posted anyway so it could be reviewed by a human... :)
The warning is based on average in the category. You may have a shorter contribution but you will be rewarded less in the end. We try to have narrative contributions so that anybody can easily understand the point of it.
Thanks. That makes sense. :)
