5 Open Source Text Editor WYSIWYG Plugin

in #utopian-io6 years ago (edited)

WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) is one example of direct manipulation. What users see on the display screen when using word processing for example, is not the actual document that will be generated in the final stage. But it is a representation or rendering of how the final document will look. The implication of this WYSIWYG is that the difference between the representation and the end result is minimal, and the user can easily visualize the end result of the computer representation.

This term is used in computation to describe a system in which the content being edited will look exactly the same as the final output, which may be a document printed on a web page. The origin of this phrase is just a catch of a phrase popularized by Flip Wilson's drag from Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In in the late 60s, and then on The Flip Wilson Show until 1974, which often says "What you see is what you get "for reasons of his unique behavior. This phrase proved quite popular to be the title of a hit single by The Drama in 1971.

For the world of WYSIWYG web programming text editor is very necessary, this is because not all web users understand the use of code from web progeaming. with the text editor WYusSIWYG this will really help the user, especially those who do not understand the code from web programing
