RE: Task Request: Developer Needed to Spec Steem/ SBD Integration With OpenBazaar.

in #utopian-io5 years ago

Hi, Steemonob. Task requests are mostly meant as a way for project owners to find people willing to contribute to their open source project. I am assuming you aren't the project owner of Open Bazaar, and so there is no way of really knowing if they'd be interested in implementing something like this in first place.

Unfortunately this means it can't really be rewarded by Utopian. Of course it can still be used as a way to find people who may be able to solve the task for you -- I just wanted to clarify this. Good luck!

Thank you for your review, @amosbastian! Keep up the good work!

Understood. They are aware of this project. I have been in regular communications with the OpenBazaar team, but I am not the project owner or really a part of their team. I guess we will have to go at it ourselves.

Thank you for the clarification.

We will make changes accordingly.

@swapsteem

Hello @amosbatian, the integration was proposed by @diggndeeper.com to the openbazaar team and they have accepted it, although we will have to integrate steem ourselves and create a PR to the original project. That makes it a completely different project from openbazaar.
I have seen that projects like EFTG have also used utopian for similar task requests and was supported by utopian-io.
Please let us know if you want any more information needed about this project and reconsider a second evaluation. Thank you!

@utopian-io, would you be able to comment on what @swapsteem says above here?

It's just the task request that won't be rewarded, however contributions made to Open Bazaar's project (or any other open source project around it) can still be rewarded via Utopian, of course.

Oh. That is interesting.

Please forgive me, I'm completely new to this. Does that mean if a developer responds to this (does the work), they could still be rewarded for their work on this project?

Yes. Basically if there is a minimum viable product that is open source, then it's valid. Of course it will still have to be reviewed by Utopian's moderators, and then after that it will either get rewarded or not.

Before you responded below, I asked knowledges on your help channel if there is a satisfactory way to get "permission" from OpenBazaar to work on this project, where we can still use Utopian?

I don't know if you can answer that as well. Just trying to make sure I don't leave options on the table.
