The internet posts about the petrodollar are fake news.

There has never been a time when the Saudis only accepted and priced only in USD. That’s simply not true. Some old, worthless agreement about a petrodollar from the 1970s has little bearing on USD today. Also, Saudi Arabia is not going to change the form of which they hold reserves (which is in US dollars still today and will be for the foreseeable future)

All of the posts on the internet fearmongering about the collapse of USD due to the petrodollar ending are hype and conspiracy nonsense.

I’m not saying I’m a fan of usd, I don’t hold any of it personally and know it is an inflating asset. I’m just saying the fearmongering about a petrodollar ending online is not backed by empiricism and is not based on sound logic and reason.
