RE: How Can 8 Million Citizens Slip into Poverty in the Country that Spends a Trillion Dollars on Wars?

in #usa4 years ago

@arabisouri, First you must look at the breakdown of the disbursements of the $2.4 Trillion. then figure where the $$$ went. The citizens, and their healthcare got approximately $240 Billion, that's for 3110 million adults and children, Small business received $350 Billion. the Airlines received smowhere above $500 billion. Now that is only slightly about $1.1 Trillion so where did the other $1 Trillion go? Well, it went o the Billionaires and the wealthiest Corporations in America. "The rich got richer, the poor got Poorer" which has been the norm here for the past 45 years. No one will ever say that out loud in the world, but unless you have over a $million, you are screwed and our "representatives don't give a crap as they are to busy getting rich themselves.

Sort:

Exactly, but also add to it that the USA can easily spend more investing in its infrastructure and wellbeing of its own citizens which would be cheaper than the spending on the humungous defense budget just to destroy other countries and the lives of millions of innocent people who many of didn't even bother what the USA is in the first place, or bother to worry about it..!
What did the people of Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Yugoslavia, Chechnya, Ukraine, China, Somalia, Vietnam... do to the USA that made the US attack them by all means and methods? Trillions of US dollars spent on those interventions while half a trillion a decade would be enough to take the USA light years ahead of the second most advanced country in the world, think about that.
