Getting a green card? It will be harder

in #usa7 years ago

"Applying for employment-based green cards will be a more drawn out process starting Oct. 1.

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services will require applicants to have an in-person interview — something that has typically been waived to speed up a nearly year-long process.

The administration, which also hopes to curb H-1B visas, has been cracking down on immigration policies, much to the frustration of tech companies.

Tech companies, which depend heavily on foreign workers with specialized skills, argue they would rely on H-1B visas less if the process was simpler for employment-based green cards."
