Wells added this laser weapon excels over other types of weapons that are only accurate in one area only: land, sea, or air. LaWS can be used for targets everywhere.
One of the benefits of LaWS that can not be approached - let alone equaled - another weapon is its speed. The laser gun moves at the speed of light. In comparison, the speed is 50,000 times that of the newest inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM) currently being prepared by the US military.
